Plan around the journey you want

Tell your consultant about your dates, pace, budget and the experiences that matter to you. Include any accessibility, dietary or family requirements early so the team can discuss suitable arrangements with suppliers.

Passports, entry permission and travel documents

Entry requirements depend on your nationality, destination and transit route and can change. Check the relevant official government and embassy information before booking and again before departure. Confirm passport validity, entry permissions and documents for children or accompanying travellers with the relevant authorities.

Health preparation

Speak with a qualified travel-health professional about advice relevant to your itinerary and personal circumstances. Carry necessary medication and the documentation required for it. Website travel copy is general information and cannot assess an individual traveller’s health needs.

Insurance

Arrange cover appropriate to your destinations, planned activities and circumstances. Review medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation, baggage and any adventure-activity exclusions directly with the insurer. Keep emergency contacts accessible while travelling.

Packing and baggage

Pack for the route, weather and accommodation in your confirmed itinerary. Light-aircraft services can have strict bag-type and weight limits; ask for the exact operator allowance before travelling. Keep essential documents and medication accessible and secure.

Wildlife, seasonality and flexibility

Wildlife is free-ranging. Sightings, migration movements, weather and road conditions cannot be guaranteed. Seasonal descriptions are planning guidance; routes and daily timings may need to adapt to conditions and park rules.

On safari

Follow your driver-guide’s instructions, park regulations and lodge safety guidance. Respect wildlife, local communities and other travellers. Ask before photographing people and follow site-specific rules on photography, walking and vehicle access.

Accommodation and facilities

Review the accommodation and room arrangements in your final confirmation. Remote locations may have different power, connectivity, accessibility and water arrangements. Let your consultant know which facilities are essential to you before booking.

Scheduled departures

The supplied Tanzania itineraries describe Wednesday, Sunday or daily patterns, with a minimum of two travellers. Dates, lodges, prices and availability must be reconfirmed for your planned departure. A pattern shown on the website is not a seat reservation.

Need help before departure?

Ask your travel consultant for the final itinerary, transfer details, luggage limits, supplier contacts and the contact arrangements to use during your trip. For initial planning, email sales@trailsofafrica.co.ke.
